“It is really disturbing, especially as a mother myself, to think that a school for special needs kids would be targeted for vandalism like this. Cloudy2Clear will be giving a cash donation to assist with repairs and, our fitters will be onsite to physically help out where they can as well. Hopefully, the community as a whole can help get the school back up-and-running as soon as possible. The Preston’s Acorns Primary School is one of the participating schools in the ‘DEAF Squash’ programme we started sponsoring last month and it is only natural that we would try to help in this instance too. Cloudy2Clear is a corporate citizen that believes in nurturing youth through education empowerment, access to sports and creation of career opportunities.”

“Leyland Lions Junior Squash & Racketball Club” based at Leyland Leisure Centre has been selected by England Squash (the sport’s national governing body), to create a “Centre of Excellence” for deaf children in Primary Schools in the North West of England. The club is one of 4 clubs (London, Midlands, North East and the North West) working in collaboration with ‘UK Deaf Sport’ to create centres of excellence for young deaf children in England this year.
John Gibson who set-up the junior club at Leyland in 2004 recently met Jayne Raven the Marketing Co-ordinator and Kirk Williams Operations Support Manager at Cloudy2Clear Windows and following that meeting, the company agreed to sponsor this year’s programme!
John Gibson said:
“Each centre will gain a ‘DEAFinitely Inclusive Club accreditation’. The programme is the first of its kind endorsed by England Squash and aims to ‘serve-up’ unprecedented access to the sport for these children who may not have had access to squash, or considered it previously. This kind of initiative requires the ongoing sponsorship of community-minded, caring and socially responsible companies like Cloudy2Clear, to whom we are genuinely grateful. Cloudy2Clear’s sponsorship will give youngsters in the local areas of Preston, South Ribble and Chorley fantastic opportunities to try a great sport whilst at Primary School.”
Speaking about the sponsorship, Marcus McGee, Managing Director of Cloudy2Clear Windows said:
“Cloudy2Clear agreed to sponsor the programme because like us the programme is ambitious, energetic and requires vision. Cloudy2Clear’s personality is also mirrored by the sport itself in its intensity and competitiveness while maintaining respect for others and a sense of fair-play. Cloudy2Clear believes that the programme will not only go on to be a huge success, but also has the potential to cultivate and nurture potential champions in the sport”.
John Gibson added:
“Cloudy2Clear is the UK’s No 1 glass replacement company and we are delighted to welcome them as the main sponsor to the programme. The weight their name carries will help provide even greater exposure to our efforts to promote the sport and all we stand for.”
