From Blackpool’s coastline to Chorley’s bustling market town, Cloudy2Clear’s local engineers work with customers to repair failed double glazed windows, sealed unit replacements and locks, handles & hinges. What’s more, our trusted experts can replace the pane, not the frame, saving customers money, energy and time. This is what makes us the UK’s leading glass replacement company for failed windows.
We love being in the heart of Lancashire which is steeped in history. Preston’s Harris museum dates back to 1893 and the city’s football team was a founding member of the original Football League.
The wider area also has a lot to be famous for. Leyland is renowned for its bus and truck manufacturer Leyland Trucks and the borough of South Ribble was revealed as the UK’s best places to live for people in their 20s due to job opportunities, affordable housing and excellent road and rail links to major cities in the North West.
Cloudy2Clear’s engineers can access those living in or who have property in the rural areas of North Preston to its vast coastline which stretches from the seaside town of Southport, fringed by the River Ribble estuary, up to Fleetwood – home to manufacturer Fisherman’s Friend which exports its lozenge around the world.
Not only is Cloudy2Clear a Which? Trusted Trader, but our engineers have excellent local knowledge and can visit your home to provide a free-no-obligation quote taking on average no longer than 20 minutes. If you’re looking to save your windows by replacing only the failed double glazed unit in Preston or the surrounding areas, then contact branch manager, Louis McGee.

A: Cloudy2Clear specialise in replacing the glass in double (or triple) glazing when the units are steamed up, etched, scratched or broken. Very few window companies offer this service as they are more interested in replacing the complete window. Cloudy2Clear are the ONLY nationwide glass replacement company, offering our services from an extensive network of local branches.
We will not try to “upgrade” you to a full window replacement that, 99 times out of 100, you will not need or want.
Cloudy2Clear receive our replacement glass from manufacturing organisations which are geared up SOLELY to manufacture hermetically sealed glass units. All units are manufactured to the highest European standard BSEN 1279 (our units are therefore tested to withstand the highest temperatures likely to be experienced in the Mediterranean, to the lowest in Scandinavia ).
All units are supplied with a full 25 years guarantee from the day of fitting.
Given all the above we can offer a superb product at highly competitive prices with the peace of mind of a full guarantee.
A: It might be ….. if a (wood) frame is rotten, or there has been physical damage in some way, then a new frame might be needed, but 9 times out of 10 the problem with current double glazing is nothing to do with the frame; it is a failure of the glazing unit, either through physical damage or condensation getting into the unit, and all you need to do is replace the glass.
A: Obviously it is in their interest to try to sell a full replacement window if they can, but in many cases, there is no need for this expense. There is no secret to sizing in double glazing. We have all the laser measurement tools necessary to make sure our replacement unit not only fits EXACTLY like the original, but uses the same thickness and type of glass (see later).
A: C2C employ experienced trades people with a track record in the glazing industry. This is especially important in dealing with wooden frames where the glass is held in both with putty and beading. It is vital that any work carried out does not damage the beading which in most cases, we will endeavour to reuse so that there is no need to paint or stain the frame after the work is carried out.
A: No problem. A Cloudy2Clear glazier will come and measure the window or door you are interested in replacing, and once fitted will then map out your house in terms of other double glazed units in windows and doors. It will only take 20 minutes or so. This gives us both a record of the sizes and types of glass you have in your property …..at any time in the future all you need to do is refer to your copy of the plan and say you would like door “x” and window ”y” replaced. We can manufacture and install immediately without the need for any further disruption, or waiting in for unnecessary visits
This is perhaps the best way to test our services, and to ensure we keep our promises. We do not expect a customer to invest everything with us right from the outset.
